2015 Scholarship Recipients
Radoni Akamu
2014-15 Undergraduate Scholarship Recipient
I am a freshman, studying Biblical Secondary Education at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. Even though I have only studied here for a semester, I have grown in so many different ways. I have grown in my knowledge of theology and the Bible. I have grown in my desire to do practical ministries. I have grown in my love for the lost and I have grown in my love for God. I know that God is using and will use these growths for His purpose.
One of the lessons I have learned and am still learning is that God is Jehovah Jireh; He will provide. Because my parents do not work for money, we are solely reliant on God to provide for our needs. This reliance still continues to my present state. Without a doubt, God has been true to His promises. He has provided in so many different ways this year, and this NAF Scholarship was one of them. This scholarship not only brought some ease to my family and me, but it was also a great reminder that God is still in control. Through God’s provision I can continue to study here so that God can use me to help others.

2014-15 Graduate
Scholarship Recipient
I am in my last semester of MDiv studies (Spiritual formation and Discipleship emphasis) at Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago, IL. I am married to Vikali arkha (who is also studying) and we are blessed with two lovely daughters, Kupunoli and Liviani, and expecting the third one soon. We were in Chiangmai, Thailand as missionaries before we came to the US for further studies. Coming to the States with my family was a big step of faith but God has shown Himself faithful as always. Receiving this scholarship is an answered prayer and a wonderful reminder of God’s hand upon our lives. Life here has not always been an easy ride, but living by faith reminds us to daily trust in His goodness and focus on things that have eternal value.
Moody Theological Seminary has been a big blessing to me. I am learning to articulate my belief in Christ more effectively as well as analyze and interpret the Scripture from the original biblical language. I look forward to going back home and applying the Biblical truths I have learnt in the ministry that God has called me for and guide His people to spiritual maturity.
For those students who applied or are thinking of applying in the future, please be encouraged that this is the second time I applied for this scholarship—a reminder to me that giving up should not be an option. In our daily spiritual walk too, we are called to persevere and treat every situation in life as opportunities to be trained in godliness. Thank You NAF for being a blessing to me and may the Lord bless all those individuals who contributed to make this happen.
